The Island of Bantayan

A "kubkub" is a wooden commercial fishing boat; stationed in the municipal shores of Bantayan, Bantayan Island, Cebu province located in the central part of the Philippines; and, owned by a good friend since high school Joe Vincent Dela Cruz. This type of vessel fished primarily the long-jawed mackerel locally known as "bulao" and its kin that is abundant in the tropical marine waters of the Visayan Sea.
